50 Ways to Become a Better Choreographer BOOK LAUNCH

I am proud to announce that after a years worth of concept building, my book "50 Ways to Become a Better Choreographer" is finally complete! The reason I wrote this book was mainly because I haven't seen anything like it, and wanted to give back to other performing artists in a context they will understand. Sure, there are some other books out there that talk about life as a performer, but mine focuses on real life scenarios and the creative kick that would be of use to a choreographer.

When I established Alliance Dance Unit in 2009, Grantley Yearwood and the Youth Service were there to give us the supporting push we needed. We worked closely to Alluminae Dance Group, and took part in each others events. The main ethos behind Alliance Dance Unit has always been about bridging the gap between self doubt and self belief, while providing services that engage and better our communities.

Performing Arts has always given me a an incentive to do better while bettering those around me in the process. I like to focus on teamwork, creativity and ideas that people often overlook. For me it was never about the fame and recognition dance would bring but rather, the joy and thrill from the many adventures one goes through to reach certain goals in life.

Since becoming a choreographer, I've been privileged to work with 1000's of individuals and gain numerous awards such as "National Federation of ALMO's, NDA Positive Role Models Top 3 UK, vInspired - Bringing Communities Together, Family Heroes Award and more. I've also met the Prime Minister and carried the Olympic Torch, so I feel honoured to have been given such opportunities whilst doing the work I do on a daily basis.

The next step is locating a suitable property for ADU to move into so that we can expand our services and train more aspiring performing artists, as we have outgrown our current space. I also plan to work alongside more community groups and artists so that we develop one big circle.
